Local structures of vehicles in highway traffic

Abstract:
We have used some magnetic loop data obtained on an express way in the suburb of Paris,
to study some characteristics of in-lane and inter-lane local structures of vehicles.
These experimental results will be presented in the first part of the talk.
Then we shall question how these can be reproduced by lattice gas models.
